Appearance: Itachi is of medium height and lean build, not overly muscular. His black hair falls past his shoulders, usually kept in a neat ponytail. He has very dark blue, almost black eyes. He has two scars on his face, diagonally from the inside corners of his eyes, from a knife fight in a bar when he was seventeen.

As far as clothing, Itachi is from a family where money is no object but where he can afford to be dressed well—in fact, favors it, as he takes a certain pride in his appearance and prefers to look neat and well-groomed. Itachi knows the importance of a first impression, and given that he is studying to be a lawyer and follows his mentor around to appointments, he likes to be presentable. If alone or training in the martial arts or with his swords, he tends toward loose, comfortable clothing that is easy to move around in.

Personality: Cold and collected, Itachi isn’t the kind of person to cuddle up to. He’s a man of few words as well; but when he does speak, it’s usually something to listen to, as it’s more likely than not a warning to move out of his way before makes the one opposing him move out of his way. Sometimes, the more annoying ones won’t even get that. If he has emotions beyond sarcastic amusement, nobody’s seen them. Should someone wish to get close to him, they’ll have to be exceptionally talented or exceptionally stupid.

Itachi can also be very ruthless; he’ll d things because to him, the ends justify the means. If he sees something as unworthy, and it is in his way, he will go to all lengths to eliminate. He will form an alliance, but that will only last as long as he gains from it. He is first and foremost a solitary person, and he would like it to remain that way. Itachi’s life at home with his family suffers from this lone wolf nature; his father is proud because his eldest son is going into law, but they’ve had one too many falling-outs over the years, and while Itachi stands to inherit the modest Uchiha estate, he is by far not the one in favor.

However it is this chilly, ruthless nature that makes him one of the most promising law students in the city. Itachi is focused, driven, and most importantly, he’s won every case his teacher has let him argue. He’s an assured genius with confidence in himself and nobody else. But all the things he holds so tightly in check have to come out somewhere.

History: There are children with talent, and then there are geniuses; the latter are recognized almost from birth. Sometimes they are left alone to prosper by themselves. Sometimes they are gently guided. And sometimes they are pushed into a profession regardless of whether they want it or not.

Uchiha Itachi is a genius. Born into new money of the Uchiha family as the first son of Uchiha Fugaku and his wife Mikoto, Itachi was given every opportunity for success and personal advancement, and like a good child would, he took them. But there has always been an air of uncanny calm about him; as a newborn, he did not cry, and even as a toddler, when he ran into things on unsteady feet, he never wailed in pain. When his younger brother Sasuke was born, Itachi displayed none of the jealous behavior when his parents’ attention shifted toward Sasuke for the brief period of time it did after Mikoto’s return from the hospital.

He and Sasuke formed a strange bond, one based in almost awe on Sasuke’s part and a grudging affection on Itachi’s part. Whether this affection was real familial love or not, Itachi will never tell. He looked after his brother and protected him when Sasuke came of schooling age, and nobody dared oppose Itachi. He had been training and winning competitions in various forms of martial art since he was old enough to walk.

A quiet, serious child, his father and mother worried something was wrong with him until he enrolled in school. He was vastly successful in his formal schooling, graduating valedictorian of his secondary school, and going on to do pre-law studies at a prestigious college nearby, having won enough scholarships to nearly cover his entire four years getting a degree in political science. He was accepted into law school almost immediately and again given a grant that covered his expenses. He is in his last year, interning with a famous trial lawyer in the glitzy downtown area.

The Uchiha family was ecstatic at his progress; Fugaku became a policeman right out of high school and to see his son go into law was a dream of his. And a lawyer son carried prestige…even if he and his father had had a falling out. Even if Itachi did not show much interest in law. Even if their second son, who was just as talented as Itachi, was neglected in favor of furthering Itachi’s success. These factors drove Itachi to a second falling-out with Fugaku when he turned twenty. He was no longer the darling of the family after that, and allowed to live at home only because the family would lose face if its bright son was kicked out.

It’s been said that Itachi has strange ties to organizations of criminals on the black market and is involved in organized crime, and these contacts are the reason why he has been so successful at prosecution and defense. A gun to a juror’s head and a sizeable amount of cash speak louder than words. Nothing has been proven, and the proud Uchiha family writes it off as jealousy of Itachi’s talents as a lawyer, even though black market ties would explain how his income is considerably larger than it should be, and how he can afford to visit the Midnight Pavilion on a fairly regular basis. All his frustrations are taken out in the form of sex.
